  • The art of making fine bourbon first took place on the site of the woodford reserve Distillery, a national history landmark, in 1812. The perfectly balanced taste of our Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is comprised of more than 200 detectable flavor notes, from bold grain and wood, to sweet aromatics, spice, and fruit & floral notes.

Color: Light amber, looks very thin.

Nose: A pronounced nose that is classic and light. Oak, vanilla, new shoe leather, corn, and a bit of light caramel.

Palate: Very mellow, muted spice, light caramel, a flash of rye, a flash of mint, and a flash of bubble gum.

Finish: Medium finish dominated by light oak and dark caramel, there’s a fleeting hint of dark cherry.

Overall: I think this is just a middle of the road easy sipping bourbon with some classic flavor – great for people who are new to tasting bourbon neat. That said, I think your average enthusiast might find this one a bit boring, a bit too “smooth”, and a bit too low proof. The flavors are nice and enjoyable but there’s nothing unexpected really and certain nothing that just explodes on the palate.
