On a visit to Antonia’s Restaurant in Hillsborough, NC, my wife enjoyed this cocktail. So of course I set out to find some Creme De Violette and try to reproduce it at home! I don’t know how they make it, but here’s my version that tastes pretty good to me!
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Bourbon (eg Four Roses)
- 3/4 oz Creme de 3/4 oz St Germain
- 1/2 oz Lavender syrup (easy recipe below)
- 1/2 oz Fresh lime juice
- 1 dash Angostura Bitters
Instructions
In a shaker, combine all ingredients and some ice. Shake 15 seconds. Strain into cold glass or over ice.
Lavender Simple Syrup
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 t lavender extract
Heat water and sugar until dissolved, remove from heat and add lavender. Let this cool and transfer to bottle. Keep refrigerated.
