Cocktail: Corn N Oil

Corn ‘N Oil Cocktail

This cocktail is popular among Foursquare fans – and the recipe is conveniently printed on the label of one of the ingredients – Velvet Falernum.

If you haven’t heard of Falernum, it’s basically a very sweet, syrupy liqueur with a very unique flavor. It can be used as a replacement for simple syrup or other liqueurs.


  • 2 oz Barbados Rum, like R.L. Seale’s. I’ve also used Doorly’s and The Real McCoy for this.
  • 1/2 oz Velvet Falernum
  • Optional: a couple dashes of bitters


Stir with ice and enjoy!
