The Ramirez is yet another cocktail that I stole from a favorite local restaurant, Panciuto in Hillsborough NC. This drink is basically a Manhattan cocktail, but with a splash of Luxardo cherry liquor. In the summertime, I often serve this over a watermelon juice ice cube instead of a regular ice cube. Magic.
Ingredients
- 2 oz bourbon or rye – something strong enough to stand up to the other flavors we’ll be adding.
- 1 oz sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes bitters, angostura or mix it up
- A splash of Luxardo cherry liquor
- Add a cocktail cherry if you like – I like Amarena cherries instead of Maraschino.
Instructions
Add all ingredients to serving glass. Add a single large ice cube (or watermelon juice cube if you have one).
For the watermelon juice ice cubes, I run a watermelon through a juicer, pour into large mold ice trays, freeze, and then stash into large freezer bags so I can pull one out whenever I want.
